Stein and Woody Vasulka "Noisefields", 1974 Courtesy Electronic Arts International (EAI), New York
Optic Ear
Sept. 26 - Dec. 13, 2009

The relationship between sound and visual composition has been a central concern for artists of the last century. This exhibition examines a key moment in the 1970s when film and video artists stripped their media down to the bare essentials in order to reveal the basic unity of sound and image. Artworks by Norman McLaren, Steina and Woody Vasulka, and Elizabeth Vander Zaag.
